Lloyd Evans came to Saint Mary's originally from Cape Town, South Africa. Evans made his way to California to get out of his comfort zone and experience the states. He is now an inspiring junior majoring in International Business and continues to play rugby for Saint Mary’s A side team.
"Evans first decided to play rugby when he was only a small boy in second grade."
Standing at 6.23 feet tall and weighing 218 pounds, Evans hopes to continue playing with the Gaels for the remainder of his stay here. His current position is a flanker, but has previously played a lock and eighth man.
The worst injury he has received playing this vigorous sport is degeneration of the neck, but through his injuries he continues to play an amazing game every time he steps onto the field. When asked how playing rugby here compares to back home he says, “I love playing rugby here. The caliber is much more exciting than what I expected”.
