Amy Romero Gonzales has taken Lasallian principles to heart. She has worked with students as an admissions counselor for Saint Mary’s, a resident director for Augustine Hall, and currently as the director of student activities and a guidance counselor for Saint Mary’s College High School in Berkeley. “I am most proud of the relationships I have with students,” she says. “Each experience and opportunity to be a small part of my students’ lives has made De La Salle come alive for me.”
Gonzales has traveled around the world to demonstrate her commitment to students, leading volunteer groups to a Lasallian orphanage, Boys Village, in Tamil Nadu in Southern India. She says the best advice she learned from the Brothers and boys while volunteering in India is, “The only thing worth collecting in life are experiences.”
