Catherine Li, 47, a vice president and technology manager at Wells Fargo Bank, grew up the daughter of two linguistics professors in China’s Hunan Province.

Earlier this year, Li was named one of the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business by a national Asian American business association. The award, she says, was partly in recognition of her co-founding the Wells Fargo Innovators Club, which aims to improve systems’ operations and develop new product ideas. Since its inception in 2006, the club has grown from six to almost 2,000 members.

Li manages many infrastructure projects and application development programs. Recently, she completed a nine-month program involving 40 Wells Fargo employees throughout the bank who worked to set up data servers for Intranet communication.

Li says the MBA she earned at Saint Mary’s in 2008 added to her skills as a manager: “I am a lot more methodical now when I deal with overwhelming amounts of information.”
