Family Forum Listserv
The Family Forum is an electronic bulletin board which allows subscribers to post e-mail messages to the listserv address. This is an ideal forum in which to ask questions and share experiences with other parents. The goal is to begin conversations and establish relationships about issues your students are facing in college. All parents of first-year, transferring and continuing students may elect to participate. Please contact the Office of New Student & Family Programs with any questions.
How do I enroll in the listserv?
Sign up for the Parent and Family Association and select “The Loop” as your involvement. You will be automatically enrolled in the Family Forum and will receive immediate e-mail messages as generated for you to read and respond. Please be sure to read the listserv rules of conduct (below) before participating.
How do I send a message to those enrolled in the Family Forum?
Just email familyforum@stmarys-ca.edu and it will be forwarded to those in “The Loop”. You will receive immediate feedback from other parents. Please be advised that when you reply to an email, your response will be sent to the entire group. If you would like to keep your question or response confidential, reply directly to the individual.
Family Forum Listserv Rules of Conduct
I understand that information sent over the Family Forum listserv is public information which may be disclosed to parents, students, faculty, staff, and other Saint Mary’s community members.
I agree that I will not post any communications that are normally or knowingly considered defamatory, false, indecent, threatening, harassing, or disruptive to the participants on the Family Forum listserv.
I agree not to upload, e-mail, or otherwise transmit any material (to the best of my knowledge) that contains software viruses designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer.
I agree not to post messages to the Family Forum which include unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or any other form of such solicitation.
I understand that I may opt out of participating in the Family Forum at any time by emailing familyforum-off@stmarys-ca.edu.
I understand that failure to observe these rules and to conduct myself with appropriate etiquette will result in my removal from the Family Forum Listserv.
I do not want to receive the emails anymore. How do I unsubscribe?
If you would no longer like to receive email updates, you may unsubscribe by sending a blank email to familyforum-off@stmarys-ca.edu. You will be automatically removed from the database. Please be advised that you will have to contact the Office of New Student & Family Programs if you want to be removed from the Parent and Family Association completely.
