Every year our PATCH leaders put on programs to help SMC students get involved in their health.  Take a look at some of the programs offered to our students and join us at our next event!

Fall Semester:

Beer Goggle Obstacle Course @ Tech & Social Just Awareness Fair

The consequences of excessive and underage drinking affects all college campuses, communities, and students whether they choose to drink or not.  This simulation activity helps us start conversations about the effects of alcohol and the importance of making responsible choices.

Turn Stigma Inside Out!

College can be a stressful time in life.  Unfortunately, a fear of seeking help prevents students from utilizing services on campus that can help them through that stressful time.  We wear our clothes inside out to encourage students to speak up and reach out...to stop stigma against using mental health services.

Great American Smokeout

Use our campus programming as your quit day or learn about tools to help you get to that goal.  To promote awareness of the social and personal dangers of smoking we put on activities to get students involved in making healthier choices.

Promise Tree

A tree is set up in Oliver Hall to allow students to get a head start on New Year's Resolutions and healthy promises for a great year ahead!

Stress Management Week

Activities are set up through out the week of finals including free massages, pet therapy, art therapy, and meditation.

Spring Semester:

Lotsa' Love SMC

Sexual health and healthy relationships are important topics that are addressed at this event.  Join us as we partner with the Women's Resource Center to provide you with an outlet to talk about lust, love, and everything in between the sheets!

MADD Crash Car Exhibit

A demolished vehicle is brought to campus with detailed storyboards that depict the crash events.  This awareness event encourages conversations about the dangers of alcohol abuse and the importance of making safe & responsible choices.

Safe Spring Break Fair

Free stuff from vendors and fun activities to teach you how to play safe during Spring Break.

5k Run with CILSA

You shouldn't need a reason to exercise, but we'll give you a good reason for this event!  CILSA and the Health and Wellness Center team up to put on a 5k that generates funds for hunger and homelessness.  Exercise for a cause...what more could you ask for?!

Stress Management Week

Activities are set up through out the week of finals including free massages, pet therapy, art therapy, and meditation.
