Saint Mary's College politics professor David Alvarez was interviewed on the Daily Planet show of Discovery Channel Canada about the security that will surround the papal conclave. Alvarez, author of the 2002 book "Spies in the Vatican: Espionage & Intrigue from Napoleon to the Holocaust," discussed the security measures necessary to ensure the secrecy of the deliberations among the cardinals choosing a new pope.
