Dear Members of the Saint Mary's College Community,

You may have heard that while on a trip overseas with a group of Saint Mary's Trustees, Regents and alumni, I experienced some heart problems and spent a week in St. James Hospital in Dublin. I am happy to report that I returned to Moraga late last week as planned and am feeling quite well. Thank you for your messages of encouragement, thoughts and prayers.

I was blessed to be treated by highly skilled Irish medical staff. They report that I did not suffer any permanent damage from the episode. I am consulting with physicians here in California to make sure that I take all possible steps to ensure my continued good health.
