MORAGA, Calif. (June 16, 2005) - Saint Mary's College of California announces the appointment of C. Raymond Larkin Jr. as chairman of the college's board of trustees and Robin John Driscoll as president of its board of regents. In addition, four new trustees have been appointed: Russell Harrison, the Rev. Patrick LaBelle, O.P. and Thomas O'Donnell.
Saint Mary's College has also named Brother Stanislaus Sobczyk, F.S.C., as interim vice president for advancement. Sobczyk has served as president of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn. for the past six years. From 1994 to 1998, he was assistant to the president at Saint Mary's College and also served as professor and coordinator of Catholic Education and Outreach Programs in the college's School of Education.
All of the positions take effect on July 1, 2005.
Larkin has served as a Saint Mary's College trustee since 1998. He is chairman and CEO of Eunoe Inc., a medical device company, and has served as a principal of Group Outcome LLC, a merchant banking firm concentrating on medical technologies. Previously, Larkin was chairman and CEO of Nellcor Puritan Bennett Inc., a medical instrumentation company.
Driscoll is president of the Driscoll Family Foundation, a director of BroadWare Technologies, a Web-based compression video technology company, and a Saint Mary's College regent. From 1998 to 2002, he was founder and CEO of WorkCard Inc., a vendor management software firm. Currently, Driscoll is CEO of oDesk Inc., a global online staffing organization.
Harrison is president and CEO of onManagement Inc., an advisory and consulting firm specializing in strategic change and executive coaching for U.S. and international companies. Previously, he was a member and past president of the Saint Mary's College board of regents.
Fr. LaBelle is director of the Catholic Chaplaincy at Stanford University, and is past president of the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley. Previously, he served as director of campus ministry and dean of campus life at Saint Mary's College.
Leader is vice president for business support services and chief information officer for Chiron Corporation. Previously, she worked in treasury management for both Security Pacific Bank and Bank of America.
O'Donnell is a member of the law firm Ferrari Ottoboni LLP, specializing in real estate, environmental law and estate planning. He previously served as president of the Saint Mary's College board of regents.
