What: The Performing Arts Department of Saint Mary's College presents a 20th Anniversary production of Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize winning "Angels in America: Millenium Approaches" for the fall theatre production. The department is excited to present this critically acclaimed play at the same time as the highly anticipated New York Off-Broadway revival. The production features a cast of talented student actors and stage direction by Professor Reid Davis.
In conjunction with the play, the School of Liberal Arts will also host a series of panel discussions with faculty members conversant in Catholic theology, anthropology, and contemporary culture. They will examine controversial issues raised by the play and how Catholic leaders, such as Mother Theresa, and Catholic relief organizations have provided compassionate care to people with AIDS internationally. For more information visit the "AIDS, Angels, and Catholic Social Teaching" Discussion Series web page.
