Saint Mary's Headed to Providence for NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

The Gaels will play the University of Richmond Spiders as the NCAA Tournament kicks off on Thursday in Providence, R.I. Saint Mary's earned a No. 10 seed in the South bracket of the 64-game tournament. The showdown against Richmond will begin at approximately noon (PST) in the Dunkin Donuts Civic Center. The Gaels, winners of the West Coast Conference Tournament, had a 26-5 season. Center Omar Samhan was named WCC Defensive Player of the Year, and Samhan and guard Mickey McConnell garnered First Team All-WCC selections. Freshman guard Matthew Dellavedova was an honorable mention All-WCC honoree, as well as being named to the WCC All-Freshman Team.
