Professional Degree Programs
Liberal Arts: Professional Degree Programs
Saint Mary's professional programs are designed for adult learners already working in a professional field, not only in schedules that fit the needs of working adults, but also in how courses are taught. The programs are based on adults’ maturity, motivation, their ability to take more responsibility for their learning, and their expectation to be active partners in the learning process. The professional programs integrate theory and experience in many ways, including acknowledging the experiential learning students bring to the classroom; challenging students to critically assess their experience and previous learning in light of new learning; and providing students with opportunities to test new learning through application in their professional work. (Traditional undergraduate students are not eligible for Saint Mary’s professional programs).
