The student whose research poster is deemed the most outstanding by the research committee is presented with the Joseph P. McKenna Science Medal. Recent Joseph P. McKenna award winners are listed below.

In addition, participants in the Summer Research Program may be selected to present their results at the undergraduate student poster sessions at the annual meetings of Sigma Xi and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, held in various major cities throughout the United States and Canada.  SMC students have been commended by these prestigious organizations every year for the high quality of their work.  Recent attendees at Sigma Xi and AAAS are listed below.
