Event Description:

What: The world premiere of Sera, a stunning new play by Saint Mary's College alumna, Angela Santillo. Taking its title from the Italian word for evening, Sera offers a sharp and surprising portrait of Pompeii, the affluent Roman city destroyed by volcano in 79AD. Playwright Santillo finds dark humor and a compelling urgency in her subject. She explains: "What drew me to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius was that there had been warning signs beforehand. Politically, socially, and environmentally, we live in a time where everything is on the verge - but what is our imminent "Big One?" When: Open Night; Thursday, April 22, at 8 p.m.
Additional performances Friday, Saturday April 23-24, at 8 p.m.
