InterVarsity Spring Service Trip

InterVarsity is sponsoring a Spring Service Trip to Sacramento. Come learn about social justice and urban poverty. The dates are April 12-14th, and registration is online at http://tinyurl.com/SMCurbandip. All are welcome to spend the weekend at our State Capitol; it is a fun way to explore the city and make a difference in the community.

Nominations for the upcoming Staff Council elections NOW OPEN!

This is a call to place your nominations for the upcoming Staff Council elections. All staff members who've been employed by the College for 3 months or longer as of July 1, 2014 are eligible to be nominated, and we strongly encourage you to consider a nomination, either for yourself or for a deserving colleague.

Legacy Garden Tomato Plant and Herb plant sale, April 2 and April 9

Support the Legacy Garden Educational programs by purchasing Heirloom, Hybrid and Cherry tomato plants, only $1.00 each. April 2 and 9 during Community Time.    Over 25 varieties lovingly planted and cared for by SMC students.   Also  basil and other herbs, $1.00.  Don't be fooled by the beautiful tall, flowering plants in the stores - the plants are healthier when set in warmer garden soil as small plants, later in April or even May!

Improved Off-Campus Access to Chronicle of Higher Education

The Chronicle of Higher Education has implemented a new method for SMC users to access its contents from off-campus. By clicking "Log in" (at the top right of the screen) and creating an account with your SMC email address and password you'll be able to access 100% of the Chronicle's content without having to go through the Library website.

Theology and Science in Context: Seeing From Where We Stand

Sister Gloria L. Schaab, SSJ, Ph.D will be visiting campus on Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the College Chapel.

Theology and science are often perceived as challenges to one another. However, what seems to be a challenge is actually an opportunity for both disciplines to explore their claims in new and surprising ways. Using theology and science as lenses or contexts for one another, Sister Gloria's presentation explores how the insights of each discipline can deepen one's understanding and appreciation of the mystery of God and the cosmos.

Recycle Mania Update

Calling all students, staff, and faculty! We want 100 blue bags collected over the next two weeks during community time on Dante Quad. Get blue bags from your RA, or in Oliver Hall by the Recycle Mania sign.
