Student leadership is hosting a symposium on the statewide ballot initiatives and the mechanics of voting on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1-2:30 p.m. in Dryden Hall. Paul Burgarino from the Contra Costa Election Department Voter Education and Engagement will explain the nitty gritty of the voting process, including the definition of a statewide ballot initiative. Kay James and Ann Flynn from the League of Woman Voters will discuss the pros and cons of the statewide ballot initiatives. The entire Saint Mary’s community is invited to attend.
The Department of Modern Languages will be hosting a Latin American Film Festival from 10/16 to 11/5. The goal of this film festival is to introduce students and the campus community to the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America as depicted in contemporary cinema.
