The SMC Library is in the process of changing EZproxy, the system that makes it possible to log in to our collection of databases from off-campus. The majority of the Gael community won't notice any change at all, but there are one or two scenarios in which attempts to access our databases could be momentarily thwarted.
We initiated a new parking permit program this school year. The fall semester went well, but we have two elements that need to be addressed:
1. During the hours of 7:30am - 3pm, Monday-Friday, you must display a current parking permit and you must park in a lot that is associated with that permit. There are a significant number of faculty & staff members that do not have the current permit (but do have the old silver sticker).
The Center for Regional Economy's Business Idea Competition on March 4 in the Soda Center is your opportunity to practice pitching your unique business idea. Selected presenters will have an opportunity to work with industry expert coaches and further develop their idea and pitch before the competition.
The Kalmanovitz School of Education at Saint Mary's College of California will host an All- Program Information Session for Prospective Students on Saturday, February 1, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, in Hagerty Lounge in De La Salle Hall. Please rsvp here.
On Saturday, February 22, from 8:30am to 1:00pm in the Saint Mary's College Soda Center, the Kalmanovitz School of Education will host a presentation by ESL educator, Jo Gusman, entitled, "Differentiated Strategies for Diverse Learners." At its January 14th meeting, Staff Council is introducing a new procedure for its open session from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Something on your mind? Attend the meeting and fill out an Open Forum Speaker Card. Take advantage of the opportunity to address the Council for 3 minutes on a topic or idea that is important to you or your department. The Council could decide to agendize your topic for a future meeting where it can be discussed in greater depth.
