The Sacramento Bee turns to Jim Hawley, co-director of the Elfenworks Center for the Study of Fiduciary Capitalism, for insight into a new state law designed to prevent corruption in public pension funds. The reform legislation was signed into law by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and prohibits former public pension officials from selling investments to California retirement boards for two years after leaving their positions as pension employees.
