Saint Mary's basketball player Daniel Kickert was the subject of articles in the San Francisco Chronicle and the Oakland Tribune in which he apologized for behavior that led to his arrest on Feb. 20.
Kickert and Brendan Redwood, a campus visitor, were cited and released by Moraga police following an altercation in a college dormitory.
"I want to apologize to the Saint Mary's community and especially my teammates and coaches for creating an unwanted distraction," Kickert said in a statement. "I understand that being a student athlete brings with it a responsibility to be a good role model and representative of your college community."
