Saint Mary’s Orientation, De La Salle Week, Commencement, and Convocation are among some of the ceremonies that connect Gaels across place and time.
And events like Gaelapalooza (a huge end of year festival with a carnival-like atmosphere) and Cultural Nights (student-run celebrations of historically underrepresented groups) bring our campus together for fun and camaraderie each year.
John Newlin '69 and Lt. Morgan Veyna '08 might have their differences, but they’ve both worn SMC stoles during the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony. Some students may be from California while others might hail from Kansas, but everyone is a Gael during a class Reunion. As trends and hairstyles change, it’s comforting that some traditions stay the same.
