If you have earned college credits, Saint Mary's College of California considers you a transfer student.

All incoming transfers who would like to apply to live on campus for the corresponding terms should:

Fall Term

  • Pay the $350 non-refundable housing deposit to the Business Office by July 1st.  If you paid the inital $650 as part of your acceptance to the college, then your housing deposit was included.
  • Complete the on-campus housing application online through StarRez (using your SMC login & password found in your welcome packet) by 4:30PM on July 1st.

Those fall semester transfer students who miss the July 1st deposit deadline should contact Campus Housing to be placed on the waitlist.  The waitlist is maintained throughout the entire summer.  When space becomes available, students will be contacted via phone and e-mail.  If housing is offered, students are generally given 24 hours to accept or decline.

Once a room assignment is made and accepted from the Housing Waitlist, the $350 housing deposit is due to the Business Office and cannot be refunded for any reason.  After paying your deposit, proof of receipt must be given to the Campus Housing Office in order to secure the room.

Spring Term

The application process for spring semester housing begins in early November.

All incoming students must complete three required steps:
  • Contact Campus Housing to be put on the waitlist as soon as possible.
  • Pay the $350 non-refundable housing deposit to the Business Office if offered a space on campus.
  • Complete the on-campus housing application online through StarRez.

*Please note that the 2015 Spring Term housing applications are not yet available for incoming transfer students.  More information will be communicated closer to November.

If you are a continuing student who does not have on-campus housing and wishes to live on campus for the spring semester, please contact Campus Housing as soon as possible.

Off-Campus

If one finds off-campus housing or decides not to live on campus for the fall or spring terms, please advise Campus Housing immediately.  For further assistance, our office publishes an Off-Campus Housing List that is available to the Saint Mary’s College of California community.  In addition, opportunities are posted by individuals in the Classifieds section for Housing via the Brickpile Discussion Board on the front page of SMCnet.
