We are currently experiencing technical/network issues with the online application. The Campus Housing Office will be emailing all new students when the StarRez housing portal is up and running. Sorry for the inconvenience!
If you have any questions, please call the Campus Housing Office at 925.631.4241. Thank you and we appreciate your patience!
If you have earned college credits, Saint Mary's considers you a transfer student.
All incoming transfers who would like to apply to live on campus for the corresponding terms should:
- Pay the $350 non-refundable Housing Deposit to the Business Office by July 1st. If you paid the inital $650 as part of your acceptance to SMC, then your housing deposit was included.
- Complete the on-campus housing application online through StarRez (using your SMC login & password found in your welcome packet) by 4:30 pm on July 1st.
*Please note that the 2014-2015 housing applications are not yet available for incoming Transfer students. More information will be given in the Welcome Packets.
Those fall semester transfer students who miss the July 1st deposit deadline should contact the Campus Housing Office to be placed on the Fall Housing Waitlist. The waitlist is maintained throughout the entire summer. When space becomes available students will be contacted via phone and SMC e-mail. If housing is offered, students are generally given 24 hours to accept or decline.
Once a room assignment is made and accepted from the Housing Waitlist, the $350 housing deposit is due to the Business Office and cannot be refunded for any reason. After paying your deposit, proof of receipt must be given to the Campus Housing Office in order to secure the room.
The application process for spring semester housing begins in early November.
All incoming students must complete three required steps:
- Contact the Campus Housing Office to be put on the Housing Waitlist as soon as possible.
- Pay the $350 non-refundable housing deposit to the Business Office if offered a space on campus.
- Complete the on-campus housing application online through StarRez.
*Please note that the 2015 Spring Term housing applications are not yet available for incoming Transfer students. More information will be communicated closer to the date.
Transfer students are offered housing on a space-available basis for the Spring semester. Priority for receiving on-campus housing is based on the date that you were placed on the Spring Housing Waitlist. When space becomes available students will be contacted via phone and SMC e-mail addresses. Once housing is offered, students are generally given 24 hours to accept or decline.
Once a room assignment is offered and accepted, the $350 non-refundable housing deposit is due to the Business Office and cannot be refunded for any reason. After paying your deposit, proof of receipt must be given to the Housing Office in order to secure the room. At this point the Residence Hall and Dining Services License is due to the Campus Housing Office.
If you are a continuing student who does not have on-campus housing and wish to live on campus for the spring semester, please contact the Campus Housing Office as soon as possible.
The License Agreement is a legally binding document that covers the terms and conditions of living in Campus Housing at Saint Mary’s College. This Housing Contract is built into the online housing application in StarRez and available if you click the "Residence Hall and Dining Services License" above. It is best to read through all the terms and conditions. Once you have completed and submitted the housing application through StarRez, the Campus Housing Office has acknowledged that you have read through the License Agreement. We encourage you to save a copy of the License Agreement for future reference.
If one finds off-campus housing or decides not to live on campus for the Fall or Spring Semester, please advise the Campus Housing Office immediately. For further assistance, Campus Housing Office publishes an Off-Campus Housing List that is available to the Saint Mary’s College community. In addition opportunities are posted by individuals in the Classifieds section for Housing via the Brickpile Discussion Board on the front page of SMCnet.
