Transfer Students
Your successful transfer from another institution to Saint Mary’s begins with Orientation and continues through the academic year. The following information will help you in your transition.
Orientation
While it is not mandatory for transfer students to attend Orientation, you are encouraged to register for Orientation Session IV (Wednesday, August 27, 2008). At Orientation, you will receive important academic information for new students (including your faculty advisor's name), find out about campus resources and learn about student involvement opportunities on campus.
Prior to Orientation, transfer students will meet one-on-one with Craig Means, Director of Articulation and Transfer, in order to review personalized degree audits, develop an academic plan and register for fall semester courses. Also before attending Orientation, review our academic requirements, submit your medical evaluation form and health insurance information (www.chickering.com).
Weekend of Welcome
All incoming transfer students are invited and encouraged to attend the speakers, events and programs that are planned during Weekend of Welcome from Thursday, August 28 through Monday, September 1. The Office of New Student & Family Programs extends a special invitation to transfer students to attend the Transfer & Commuter Student Reception during the weekend activities.
Annual Opportunities
There are a number of ways for you to get involved with New Student & Family Programs throughout the year. Be sure to review these great opportunities:
