Science & Honors Living Theme Programs
Science Theme Living Program
The School of Science and the Office of Residence Life are pleased to offer the Science Theme Living Program (STLP) for first year students in Assumption Hall. Residents of the Science Theme Living Program will:
- Be provided with increased support in common basic courses, particularly in math, biology and chemistry, through continued learning with their peers, and advising and mentoring from science faculty.
- Participate in both formal and informal events of particular interest to the students in the program, including, field trips, team building activities, study groups, on-site tutoring, mentoring, and meals with the faculty.
- Gain opportunities for awareness and understanding of their abilities and opportunities in these fields. The program includes Students are eligible to participate in the program if they are registering for any of the following courses for Fall:
- Biology 15, 16
- Chemistry 8, 9
Math 13, 14, 27, or Math 3 - for non-science majors

Honors Theme Living Program
Incoming first-year students admitted with honors may elect to participate in the Honors Living and Learning Community. Interested students will designate their preference to the Office of Residence Life when submitting their housing contract in July. The Honors Living and Learning Community will consist of a residential cohort of students in Assumption Hall. This particular residence hall will be shared with the Science Living and Learning Community.
The Honors Living and Learning Community will include:
- A Residential living community in Assumption Hall
- A study lounge within the residence hall
- Weekly discussion series with invited faculty to compliment the Collegiate Seminar readings
- Special social and educational opportunities throughout the year
- A specific "personal" librarian assigned to each student for special research assistance; drop-in Honors info literacy sessions in the Library's new 3rd floor instruction area
