The Student Health and Wellness Center provides primary medical services for common minor illnesses and injuries. For serious or prolonged illnesses, students are referred to local hospitals or to their private physician. Illnesses commonly treated may include upper respiratory infections, strep throat, flu, mononucleosis, urinary tract infections and minor orthopedic problems. All services and most medications are offered at no cost to the student.
Other services:
- medical equipment - ice packs, crutches, heating pads, ace wraps or ankle braces
- referrals to local medical specialists
- blood pressure checks
- immunizations
- health education and counseling
Additional services done off-campus such as laboratory tests, x-rays, consulting specialists and hospitalizations are not covered by the college.
