New Student Orientation
Orientation is a fundamental aspect of a new student's experience of Saint Mary's College of California.
First Year Orientation
All new students must participate in an orientation session. During this one day orientation session students and their family members meet with faculty, staff, and current students who share information and experiences about how to successfully transition into the Saint Mary’s community.

Transfer Student Orientation
Transfer students will have a session tailored specifically for you. Sessions will cover your degree audit, creating an academic plan, and having your questions answered. Faculty, staff and current transfer students will be available to share opportunities for involvement as a continuing student at Saint Mary’s.

Register for New Student Orientation
All new students, including transfer students, need to register for Orientation. To register for Spring Orientation, 2013, please contact New Student & Family Programs at (925) 631-4647.
Cost
All students are charged a one-time $250 Orientation fee applied directly to their student account. The fee covers all costs associated with Orientation, administrative needs, materials, food, and staffing.
Parent and Family Weekend Program
The continued involvement of parent and family members is crucial to the success of college students. Each new student is encouraged to bring up to three family members to participate in the Parent and Family Program during New Student Orientation, which will allow families to learn about the various resources available in the campus community, meet College staff, and connect with parents of other new students. Family members should attend the same New Student Orientation session as their student.
