Orientation is the foundation for one's experience at Saint Mary's College of California
New Student Orientation
All new students must participate in an orientation session. During this one day orientation session students and their family members meet with faculty, staff, and current students who share information and experiences about how to successfully transition into the Saint Mary’s community. Students that need to fulfill any placement requirements will need to complete those prior to orientation. On the day of orientation, students and families participate in two separate programs tailored to address their specific needs. Program participants will become better acquainted with campus resources and have opportunities to discuss the many facets of college life.

9:00 a.m.-Welcome
10:00 a.m. - Meet your Orientation Leader
10:30 a.m. - Academic Workshops
11:30 a.m. - Lunch / Academic Interest Fair
1:00 p.m. - Faculty Advising
2:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Course Registration / Next Steps
