“Throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
Spend a semester studying at Ireland’s leading business school. You can study either the fall or spring semester at the University College Dublin Quinn School of Business (UCD Quinn School), taking regular university courses alongside other Irish and international students.
University College Dublin (UCD) is a dynamic, modern university - the ideal surroundings for learning and discovery. Established in 1854, the university had a major role in the history of Ireland due to its alumni, which have included famous architects, entrepreneurs, politicians, and writers (James Joyce graduated with is BA in 1902). As Ireland forges a new identity through relationships with international partners, the university is adopting an increasingly international outlook.
Due to rapid growth during the 1960’s and 1970’s, UCD relocated from St Stephen's Green in Dublin’s city center to the Belfield campus, about 2 miles south of the city center. The university still maintains Newman House in the city center, one of its original buildings, and there is also a campus facility at Blackrock, Dublin, where the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business is located. Today, the university has about 22,000 students, with over 2,000 international students from over 50 countries.

You will be housed in on-campus accommodations during your time at the UCD. On-campus accommodations consist of residences on the Belfield and Blackrock campuses that have two, three, four, and five room self-catered apartments. These apartments are fully equipped and furnished except for kitchen/tableware. You can either bring these items with you or purchase them at the local shops, or purchase a ready-made kit through UCD’s Accommodation Office. On-campus accommodations are limited, however, so UCD cannot guarantee that all participants will placed in them.
In the rare instance when on-campus accommodations cannot be arranged, off-campus accommodations may be a possibility. You will be assisted by both the UCD Quinn Study Abroad Programme and the UCD Accommodation Office to find suitable housing – usually in an apartment or house. If you prefer to be in a homestay, UCD holds a list of families who offer bed, breakfast and evening meal for either five or seven days per week.
