Art Professor Peter Freund Exhibits in Iran

SMC Art Professor Peter Freund this week concludes a solo show of his video art, entitled IRAN USA, at the Sazmanab Center for Contemporary Art. The works in his exhibition explore the element of fantasy in historical memory, including the end of the McCarthy Red Scare period in the US, the US/British-orchestrated coup d'état of Iran, and the relationship between the two.

Legacy Garden Farmers Market on Wednesdays this fall

Get fresh fall produce from the Legacy Garden every Wednesday, Sept 2 through mid- October  11:00 -1:00.  The farmers market table will be set up  with the BBQ /fair locations.  When there is no BBQ, the table will be set up in it's usual place across from the Bookstore.  Thank you for supporting SMC's Legacy Garden.  100% of your donation for the produce goes to the garden.

2015-2016 Parking Permit Renewals & Distribution

If you had a 2014-2015 parking permit, your 2015-2016 parking permit was automatically renewed. If you requested to pick up your permit, please do so at the Public Safety Admin Office in Assumption Hall, Mon.-Fri., 9am-5pm or the Front Gate after hours & on weekends. Staff permits requested to be mailed were sent on Aug. 14th & faculty permits were sent on Aug. 24th. We will begin monitoring the parking lots Aug. 31

Please join Museum members for an exclusive in conversation featuring the photographer Stephen Joseph and East Bay regional Park district Manager Robert Doyle on Thursday, August 27 in Claeys Lounge from 4-6. Stephen Joseph's Vasco Caves photograph is currently on exhibit at the Museum. Come check it out! 

Telephone Upgrade Scheduled for August 19th

 

We are installing a new processor in our NEC telephone switch and replacing the voicemail software.  The main cutover will take place early Wednesday morning, August 19th.  The new system is being set up to mirror what is currently in place so that the transition will be as smooth as possible.  The procedures for placing or receiving calls and accessing voicemail will remain the same as they are today.

12:30 BBQ  on the Chapel Lawn, provided by the President's Office

Most departments will be closed for the afternoon with exceptions determined by

individual departments.
