Limited Service Hours 10/22-10/27

The Library will close one hour early at 9pm Wednesday, October 22nd.  From Thursday October 23 – Monday October 27 at 1am, the Library will be open normal hour

And the winner is....

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Banned Books survey during the week of September 21-28, 2014.  We have 102 total respondents who checked off all the banned or challenged books that they have read (so far!).  One person even had a write-in candidate-- The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.

Banned Book Week at SMC

Come visit the Library lobby area to see a display of banned or challenged books.  They are wrapped in plain paper with quotes from reviews on the outside to show why they were banned or challenged.  You are encouraged to handle the books!  There is also a survey you can complete to show how many titles you have read (so far!).  Results will be posted on the Library's social media pages.

Come one come all!   Officially Banned Book Week is from September 21st through September 28th, and the exhibit will last at least that long.

Info Literacy Course Modules (ILCM) Training

Students struggle with choosing a topic, doing research in a database, citing sources, evaluating credibility, and avoiding plagiarism. Information Evaluation and Research Practices and Critical Thinking are two pillars of the Habits of Mind goal of the Core Curriculum, but in the age of Google, Wikipedia, and Pinterest, it can be hard to get students to see why these academic skills still matter.

Pardon our dust!

Want to know what the Library has been doing this summer, and now continuing into the Fall?  There is a page dedicated to our remodeling efforts.
