About the Raul and Shari Deju Hispanic Scholarship
The Deju 1991 Trust, representing its trustees, Raul and Shari Deju recognizes the importance the Hispanic community has in America and the importance it has on the San Francisco Bay area. The Hispanic community in a short 20 years has become nearly a trillion dollar economy representing the largest GDP output of any Spanish speaking country. Further, the Hispanic community in Contra Costa County and in the Bay area at large represents an important component of the job and entrepreneurial market. Furthermore, the Deju 1991 Trust recognizes the importance the Hispanic Community has as part of an overall drive to multiculturalism involving the globalization process which is the economic engine of the 21st Century.
Recognizing the importance of the Hispanic community's continued economic growth and the need to improve opportunities for qualified Hispanic students, the Deju 1991 Trust will establish an annual scholarship, the Raul and Shari Deju Hispanic Scholarship, within the School of Economics and Business Administration at Saint Mary’s College to support a highly academically-qualified, Hispanic graduate business student.
