What: Teachers, Teaching and the Movies, a conference designed to bring together and international group of scholars to present papers on the representations of teaching and learning in popular media and the use of popular media in the classroom.
Who: The conference is hosted by Saint Mary's College and has been organized by Robert Bulman, Associate Professor of Sociology; B.A., M.A., Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley.
When: The conference begins on Thursday, March 26 at 6 p.m. with a keynote address by Michael Kimmel, author of the recently published book, Guyland: The Perilous World Where Boys Become Men.
His talk "Guys, Guyland, and Guy Flicks: Young Men as Producers, Consumers and Characters in Contemporary Cinema" is open to all.
The conference continues all day Friday, March 27, and Saturday morning, March 28.
