The Gaels Mess with Texas: 2012 College 7s National Championship

Cooper Maloney (L) and Michael Haley (R) will both represent the Gaels at Nationals this weekend.11/28/2012- Moraga, Calif. Reports are calling Saint Mary’s a “hungry” side entering into this weekend’s National Sevens tournament. The Gaels have suffered from injuries to key performers, however the squad is looking strong and scrappy going into Friday’s matches.

Our forwards have been mentioned as some of the strongest in the tournament with players like, Tim Maupin, Kelly Harris, and Michael Haley. The Gaels can also expect key performances from seniors, Garrett Brewer and Luke Napier in College Station, TX this weekend.

Saint Mary’s toughest opponent in Pool E is the host squad, Texas A&M. The team’s style of play has been called “clean” with strong tacklers.

The Gaels are projected to finish at the top of Pool E. They will face Western Washington at 9:00 AM (PST), Bowling Green at 12:40 PM (PST), and Texas A&M at 4:00 PM (PST).

The games will be aired on www.YouTube.com/USARugbyTV. To find out more information on schedules and live streaming visit USARugby.org.
