An exciting opportunity to hear directly from the director of the Saint Mary's College Museum of Art, Carrie Brewster on the genesis of college and university museums in 16th C. and 17th C. Renaissance Europe and the important role played by museums in supporting college curricula and local communities.
Brewster will discuss the influence of Br. Cornelius Braeg, founder of the original art gallery at SMC in the early part of the 20th C., the development of the museum's permanent collection, its recent expansion and its plans for the future.
