The Way of the Cross: Catholic Liturgical Arts Conference
As we approach the Lenten season, the Catholic Liturgical Arts Committee at Saint Mary's College invites you to attend a special Lenten conference dedicated to the seasonal devotion, The Way of the Cross.
Our guest speaker is distinguished Saint Mary's College Professor Brother Charles Hilken, an expert on medieval history and author who consulted on the "Vatican Splendors" art exhibition. He will speak on the history of the cross as a symbol and an object of art.
Space is limited, so please make your reservations by Friday, February 22, 2012
After a catered lunch, join us in a special Lenten devotion of The Stations of the Cross in the Saint Mary's Chapel, led by the Christian Brothers, incorporating ancient chant, meditation to live flute music, and original prayers.
Cost: $10.00, includes Lenten soup lunch. Free to SMC students, faculty and staff.

In a special exhibit for this conference, 14 original engravings in the "Chemin de la Croix" series by French Expressionist Jean Charlot will be displayed for meditation at each station of the cross.
Presented by the Catholic Liturgical Arts Committee at Saint Mary's College of California
Sponsored by the Cummins Institute for Catholic Thought, Culture and Action and a generous grant from the Lebherz Family Trust
