Monday, January 14, 2008 - 6:59am
Event Description:

This documentary theatre project, currently in development by five Bay Area artists, ia based on oral histories of workers and others impacted by the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos. As a theatre piece, the text juxtaposes the narratives and voices of workers, displaced landowners, government officials, scientists and spouses involved in the building and running of the research facility in the middle of the desert. Professional actors Frances Lee McCain, Catherine Castellanos and Luis Aguar will present a one-hour overview of the project and talk about the testimonies of those who witnessed this largely secret chapter in our history. Their presentation will include the performance of a number of characters from the longer piece, and will conclude with a question-and-answer session.
