Keith Brant joined Saint Mary’s College of California in July 2008 as Vice President for Development. His responsibilities encompass attracting private financial support and strengthening the College’s relationships with alumni and other constituents.
Keith previously served as the Vice Chancellor for External Relations at the University of California, San Diego. His work at UCSD included oversight for philanthropic development, university communications (including special events and publications), alumni relations, state and local government relations, and advancement services.
Keith began his professional experience at his alma mater, UCLA. For 11 years, he served as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations and Executive Director of the UCLA Alumni Association. Keith oversaw the administration of one of the world’s largest and most demographically diverse alumni associations.
Keith earned three degrees from UCLA including a Ph.D. in higher education. His doctoral research explored the nature of volunteer leadership in grassroots settings. Keith is a former trustee of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and chaired the CASE Commission on Alumni Relations, the professional assembly that supports the creation and dissemination of knowledge in the advancement discipline. In addition he is an established contributor of many articles in higher education journals and served as a consultant/advisor on advancement issues to several institutions.
