Children’s choirs have been an important element of Catholic liturgy through the centuries. Join renowned conductor Patrick Flahive and three noted California children’s choirs for a delightful conference on youth choral presentations. In the morning, Flahive and the choirs will prepare their music and present it at a Mass in the Saint Mary’s Chapel, celebrated by Bishop Emeritus of Oakland John S. Cummins and Father Samuel F. Weber, O.S.B., a historian and composer of Gregorian chant. Before the Mass, enjoy a prelude of concert pieces sung by each of the four children’s choirs. After the Mass, join us in lunch and fellowship, followed by a keynote lecture by Flahive on the development and nurturing of children’s choirs.
