For 25 years, Susanne Jalbert has worked in the field of economic activism to improve international business and promote peace. She graduated from Saint Mary’s with a B.A in business management and earned a master’s in adult education and a Ph.D. in human resources and education. Jalbert is an international economic development senior advisor, focused on advancing financial and corporate governance and social responsibility.

She is also an advocate of the Global Fund for Women and a feminist. “The cultural and political dynamics of the 1970s set the stage for the economic development work I do today.” She advises young women: “Empower yourself economically and life is changed, quality of life is improved, and equitable social consciousness is raised.” Jalbert has many role models, including peace activist Genevieve Fiore and her 102-year-old grandmother. “I draw upon wise women for laughter, love, and fuller comprehension of life,” she says.
