4th Annual Black Student Convocation “Joy, Fun, Community”

Date & Time:
Saturday, February 13, 2021 - 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The “44 Days of Black History” celebration at Saint Mary’s College officially begins with our Black Student Convocation. Black Student Convocation is designed to give Black undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to gather, reinforce their academic and professional pursuits, enhance transformative bonds, and discuss their shared experiences, goals and needs as students at SMC with the guidance and support of Black Faculty, Staff, and Alumni. This is an important and essential opportunity to build yourself and our community. This year’s event includes dialogue around the experiences of Black students at Saint Mary’s College, a morning plenary focused on Black male perspectives across the generations, a career panel discussion with Black alumni and other Black higher education professionals from across the country, self-care sessions, and more! Convocation will also include music provided by professional DJs, fun trivia, and a student/alumni mixer. Prizes for participating Saint Mary’s students will be available in-person at the end of the event, or mailed home. Join us for “Joy, Fun, Community.”
