Nick Perez has been playing piano since he was five years old and has continued to refine his skills at Saint Mary's College for the last four years.
Though he comes from a background heavy in jazz, blues, and rock, Saint Mary's College has provided him the opportunity to improve his classical repertoire and to continue to improve his jazz and blues "chops". Nick prides himself in the ability to adapt to a variety of musical scenarios: he has appeared on a folk album, plays at a gospel church every Sunday, plays for numerous theatrical works, and has sung in Europe and South Africa with the Saint Mary's College Choir.
Throughout his time at Saint Mary's he has enjoyed a very fruitful career as a freelance musician playing at some of the Bay Area's finest theaters and performance venues including Berkeley Playhouse, Broadway by the Bay, and the Speakeasy SF, where he was one of the original music directors in 2017.
Nick is thrilled to showcase what he has learned at Saint Mary's with the following program:
Three Preludes, George Gershwin
Sonata in A Minor K. 310, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
I Got Rhythm, George Gershwin, arr. Nick Perez
My Favorite Things, Rodgers and Hammerstein, arr. Nick Perez
Over the Rainbow, Harold Arlen, arr. Nick Perez
Ballade No. 1 in G Minor Op. 23, Frederic Chopin
