Join educators, non-profit managers, community organizers, direct service providers, and other people committed to practicing leadership for social change for this two-day dynamic conference. This annual event focuses on the theory and practice of leadership, spirituality, and social justice. The Institute features two keynote presentations, breakout sessions, networking and reflection.

Claudia Horwitz is the founding executive director of stone circles, whose mission is to strengthen and sustain people committed to transformation and justice through spiritual practice and principles, a sustainable relationship with the land, radical hospitality and strategic collaboration. Claudia was a Rockefeller Foundation Next Generation Leadership Fellow and has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Duke University. She is the author of The Spiritual Activist: Practices to Transform Your Life, Your Work and Your World (PenguinCompass, 2002) and serves on the board of the Seasons Fund for Social Transformation.
Reverend Deborah Lee is the Director of the Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights, a program of Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice-California. Since 1994, the Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights has been a faithful voice, accompanying and advocating for the full participation and dignity of immigrants. An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, Deborah has worked at the intersection of faith and social justice for over 20 years as an educator and organizer on issues of race, gender, a just economy, anti-militarism and immigration. Her work has consistently bridged different ethnic communities, generations, and geographies in creative and transformational processes.
