Cal State University - Long Beach Master's Programs

Master of Industrial-Organizational Psychology

The Master's of Science in Industrial-Organizational (MSIO) Psychology program at California State University Long Beach is a rigorous, 36-unit program designed to prepare students to enhance organizational performance and human well-being in professional settings. 

Master of Science in Human Factors

The MS in Psychology, Option in Human Factors, is designed to prepare students to apply research-focused human factors skills to the design of jobs, information systems, consumer products, workplaces, and equipment in order to imporve user performance, safety, and comfort. Our Human Factors program is accredited by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.

Master if Arts in Psychological Research 

The Master's of Arts in Psychological Research (MARP) program is designed to provide foundational graduate education in the content areas and research of general psychology to prepare for a master's-level career or entrance into a doctoral program.

PRYDe Lab at Texas Tech University

Dr. Adam Schmidt, assistant professor and director of the Pathways to Resilient Youth Development (PRYDe) lab in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Texas Tech University (TTU), will be reviewing graduate applications for the 2021 cohort. The PRYDe lab conducts research in the areas of neuropsychology, forensic psychology, and child clinical psychology. For more information about the PRYDe lab, click here. Notre Dame ACE Teaching Fellows

The program is: 

  • Earning a cost-free Master of Education degree from the University of Notre Dame (no tuition, no debt)

  • Teaching for 2 years as a full-time teacher in an under-resourced Catholic school 

  • 2 summers on campus at Notre Dame (room and board provided) taking a class to prep to become a teacher 

  • Teaching in 1 of our 35 sites across the country (you can reference the sites here) 

  • Catered to NON-education Majors with interest in teaching a core content area Math, Science, English/Language Arts, History/Social Studies, Religion, Foreign Language) or Elementary 

  • Living in an intentional Christian community at your ACE site 

  • Much smaller than Teach for America (200 teachers total) and looks to support its teachers differently with both an academic and pastoral supervisor

  • A Catholic program animated by our catholic faith - though you do not need to be catholic to be qualified!

Master’s Degrees in Psychology

Masters in Psychology at San Francisco State University

San Francisco State University (SFSU) offers six graduate concentrations: MS Clinical Psychology; MA Developmental Psychology; MS Industrial/Organizational Psychology; MA Mind, Brain, and Behavior; MS School Psychology with a PPS School Psychologist Credential; and MA Social Psychology.

The application opens from October 1st through February 1st via Cal State Apply. Interested students can contact psych@sfsu.edu with any questions.

Michigan State University School Psychology Program (M.A.)

A school psychologist is a professional who applies psychology to schooling and learning related issues. In training and practice, school psychologists promote mental health and social justice through their assessment, intervention, and consultation work. 

Students obtain a Master of Arts (M.A.) in School Psychology as part of their Ed.S. or Ph.D. programs; enrollment in the Ed.S. or Ph.D. program is required to obtain the M.A. See more information about enrolling in the Ph.D. program below.

Psy.D. Programs in Psychology

Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at California Northstate University 

Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at California Northstate University prepares you with proven interventions and practical clinical experiences. You will gain the skills to treat diverse and complex patient populations and the knowledge necessary to inspire and motivate others as you take leadership roles in both the profession and communities we serve.

The program offers:

  • No mandated summer or weekend classes

  • Student-to-faculty ratio kept below 10:1

  • Most class sizes kept below 20

  • Students from the colleges of psychology, medicine, and pharmacy work together in research and leadership classes.

  • The Psy.D. program has full regional approval through WSCUC.

Clinical Psychology/Behavioral Health Integration at Antioch University New England

Antioch University New England (AUNE) in Keene, NH, is the first APA accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology to offer a Major Area of Study (MAS) in Behavioral Health Integration and Population Health. Led by Dr. Alexander Blount, a pioneer in the integration of behavioral health services into primary care, the program trains students to become leaders in integrated primary care.

The MAS program, through the Center for Behavioral Health Innovation in the Department of Clinical Psychology, is active in a statewide, multi-disciplinary effort in New Hampshire to develop the primary care behavioral health workforce. Find more information here

Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rowan University

The application deadline is January 1st. Please visit the department’s website here for more information. Below, I have highlighted some aspects of the program that may be of particular interest:

  • $1000 tuition per semester and annual stipends

  • Graduate students are personally mentored by their research lab advisor

  • Close proximity to relevant organizations and research and clinical training sites

  • Financial support for select advanced graduate students

  • Energetic, productive faculty with cross-discipline research collaborations

  • Rowan University is located in Glassboro, New Jersey, 20 minutes southeast of Philadelphia.
