We are pleased to have this opportunity to introduce you to the accounting program at Saint Mary's College. We are very proud of our program. Our graduates are well respected in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Consequently, employers consistently seek to offer them outstanding career opportunities. In recent years, virtually all of our seniors have had job offers before they graduate. Many go into public accounting with worldwide firms such as KPMG and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, while others join regional and local firms. Still others go to work for companies such as Chevron or Bank of America, non-profit organizations, or governmental agencies such as cities, the Internal Revenue Service or the FBI. Others go on to graduate school in law or business.
The Accounting Program at Saint Mary's provides a comprehensive accounting education, which includes in-depth instruction in accounting principles and theory, state of the art computer training, seminar classes in current issues, income tax law and auditing standards. Our faculty includes practicing CPA's as well as published Ph.D. professors. This top-rate accounting program combined with the liberal arts curriculum of the college gives students outstanding skills and a degree that is universally respected by employers. Our Accounting Major meets the new state requirements for CPA licensing in California.
Key to the success and satisfaction of accounting majors at Saint Mary's is our Accounting Club. This dynamic student organization is active offering office visits to accounting firms, sponsoring events on campus such as "Meet the Firms" and "Alumni Night" as well as pizza nights with accounting professionals. The Accounting Club is a way for students to connect with their peers as well as network with prospective employers.
