Suggested Graduation Plan

Planning ahead can save you time and money.

Course Availability:

Common Business Core courses are offered every semester. Some courses are only offered once per year. Consequently, students must carefully plan with their faculty advisors how best to complete their program of study. BUSAD students should meet quarterly with their faculty advisor to review their graduation plan and gain permission to register for the following term.

When to Take General Business and Concentration Course Requirements:

Students do not need to finish all Common Business Core courses before starting their general business or concentration required courses. Those courses may be taken as soon as the prerequisites are finished with a C- or higher grade.

Advising and Program Accommodations:

Successful completion of the Business major by the expected graduation date requires careful planning.  Students are responsible for their own program plan, which includes meeting with their advisors to go over their graduation plan. Special accommodations to modify the program are unlikely (e.g.,, waiver of prerequisites or substitution of courses), but if permitted would require the approval of the Business Administration Program Director.

To request transfer credit for equivalent courses taken at other institutions, submit a Transfer Request Approval Form link on the Registrar’s website. Additionally, you may complete a Special Action Petition via the link on the Registrar’s website to request waiving or class or to receive internship credit (BUSAD 195).

Eligible students with a minimum 3.0 accumulative GPA and faculty advisor’s approval may submit an Overload Form from the Registrar’s website to take a complimentary 5th class in a given semester.

If a student has tried to register in a full load and has no other option than to request registration in a closed class, he may follow the guidelines for the centralized BUSAD Petition Process and submit the petition to the BUSAD Program Director for consideration of extraordinary circumstances. Click here for more information. Priority registration is based on class status. Students wishing to register for open classes may use Gaelxpress prior to the beginning of the term or use the Add-Drop Form and obtain their faculty advisor’s approval.
