"California Mortgages: Crisis, Jobs and Hope" Saint Mary's Forum Examines State's Economy
What: The Center for the Regional Economy in the School of Economics and Business Administration at Saint Mary's College presents "California Mortgages: Crisis, Jobs and Hope." a forum examining California's mortgage industry, its impact on employment and whether the state is destined for a prolonged economic downturn.
Congressman John Garamendi of the 10th Congressional District joins leaders from the mortgage and financial markets in a panel discussion about unemployment, residential real estate loan delinquency rates, foreclosure prevention and steps to take to spur economic growth in California. Panel members includes Gary Zimmerman, Senior Economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and Christopher George, Chief Executive Officer of CMG Mortgage. The forum includes a question and answer session and will be moderated by Saint Mary's College Marketing Professor and Director of the Center for the Regional Economy Tomas Gomez-Arias.
