Campus Operations Update for Thursday, January 5

As inclement weather continues to impact our entire region, we hope that all members of our Saint Mary’s community are staying safe and taking care to support one another. With more rain in the forecast, we want to provide an update on campus operations as well as links to important resources.

Per the direction of President Plumb, campus will remain open on Thursday, January 5. Classes may be held virtually or canceled if determined necessary by instructors. Jan Term instructors will communicate specific information regarding their courses to their students directly via email, so please keep an eye out for more information.

Similarly, staff members who do not need to provide direct student support services are encouraged to work from home. Public Safety, Facilities Services, and Student Life staff members who support students living and coming onto campus will be asked to report to work to maintain continuity of campus services. If you have a question as to whether you need to be on campus, please consult your supervisor.

We also want to remind all community members of storm-related information provided on Monday and add additional resources. In the event of an emergency or rain-related issues in a room, please call Public Safety at (925) 631-4282. For non-emergency questions, you can contact Facilities Services Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at (925) 631-4286. If you live off campus and are in need of temporary housing, please contact Campus Housing for assistance at (925) 631-4241. Also, remember to download the LiveSafe app and subscribe to Saint Mary’s College of California for campus emergency notifications and alerts.

Finally, Contra Costa County provides valuable safety tips via the links below.

Sincerely,
