Where is Career & Professional Development Services?

We are located in FAH 190 (Filippi Academic Hall.) When you arrive on campus, drive toward the chapel and turn RIGHT at the end of the driveway.

Continue on the perimeter road past the Library on your left and the baseball field on your right. Where the road turns sharply to the left, you will take a RIGHT turn into a parking lot that is marked for Commuter Students and Visitors. The Rec Center will be on your right. Filippi Academic Hall will be on your left, on the corner.

Once you have parked, walk back to Filippi Academic Hall (FAH) and continue on the perimeter road that runs past the back of FAH. Turn left when you reach the end of FAH. Augustine Hall will be to your right. The entrance to FAH 190 is the first door you will see on the left. If you reach the circle with a tree in the middle, you have gone too far.

Why is my SMC login not working?

It could be that you need to change your password with CaTS. Go to the CaTS website and request a password reset. Try logging into GaeLink again. If you have reset your password and are still having problems you need to contact the Career Center.

How do I search for jobs?

  • Go to
  • Log into your account using your My SMC username and password
  • Click the [Jobs & Internships/GaeLink Jobs] tab
  • Search for jobs or internships by choosing specific criteria (i.e. Full-Time, Part-Time, Internships etc.)
  • Click on the job you are interested in and view the posting
  • You can also search jobs by selecting the [Employers] tab
  • Once the desired employer is selected, click on the [Available Positions] tab to view the jobs for that employer

How do I apply for a job?

Applying for jobs can be very different depending on what type of job you are applying for. Look at the directions offered by the employer on the job posting. If they are no specific enough call and email them directly.

How do I see the On-Campus Interview information?

  •  Go to:
  • Log into your account using your My SMC user name and password
  • Click the "Jobs & Internships/GaeLink Jobs"
  • Click on "Show Me: On-Campus Interviews"
  • Click "Search"
  • Review/research all positions and decide which you want to interview for

How do I see what interviews I’m signed up for?

  • Go to:
  • Log into your account using your My SMC username and password.
  • Once you have signed up for interviews a tab will appear at the top that says “My On-Campus Interviews”. You can use this to keep track of your interviews.

How do I RSVP for a workshop?

  • Go to:
  • Log into your account using your My SMC user name and password
  • Click the [Workshop/Event Sign-Up] tab
  • Select the [Workshops] tab
  • Choose the workshop that you want to view
  • To simply RSVP for a workshop, click the [RSVP] button in the RSVP column

Why do I need the interview workshop?

Students are required to sign up for the Interview workshop as a prerequisite for signing up for On-Campus Interviews. Participating in this workshop will better prepare you for the interviews you are about to go through. If you can’t make it to one of the regularly scheduled Interview workshops you can always schedule a one-on-one appointment or watch the Interview workshop video by calling the Career & Professional Developement Services.
