CEO of Broadvision Speaks to Saint Mary's Students & Alumni
On Monday, October 24th, Dr. Pehong Chen, Chairman, CEO and President of BroadVision, Inc. spoke to a packed room of Saint Mary’s College students, alumni and friends at the School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA) Executive Speaker Series at the Network Meeting Center in Santa Clara. Headquartered in Redwood City, publicly traded BroadVision, an innovative provider of online commerce and business social networking solutions, was founded by Dr. Chen in 1993, with offices and operations in more than 20 other cities around the world.
The topic was relevant to every working professional: “Workplace 2.0 – Three Megatrends Defining A New Work Paradigm”. The message was clear – social networking, working on the cloud, will change everything: our lives, our work, our future. The hour long presentation followed by audience Q&A covered topics such as:
- Virtualization (cloud computing): work is done anywhere
- Mobilization (smart devices beyond the PC): work is done anytime
- Socialization (collaborative, social technologies): work is done by anyone
According to Dr. Chen, “e-mail is the hidden cost in running a business”. Working from the cloud leads to transparency, and transparency leads to innovation and efficiency. Dr. Chen says, “the challenge is not technology innovation; it is changing people’s behavior”. To view the full video of the talk, click here. To view photos, click here.
