Christian Brothers Turn to Laypeople

With the number of Christian Brothers declining in the United States, an article in the Contra Costa Times examines how schools like Saint Mary's College are increasingly relying on lay partners to fulfill their 300-year-old educational mission.

"We fully share our mission with the people who join," said Brother Michael Meister, a Saint Mary's religious studies professor. "You don't work for the Christian Brothers, you work with the Christian Brothers."
