Have you ever wondered how two people with the “same facts” took two very different actions?  The Ladder of Inference describes the thinking process that we go through, usually without realizing it, to get from a fact to a decision or action. The stages of this process can be seen as rungs on a ladder, each relating to a particular set of mental processes. Learning about how one “climbs” the Ladder of Inference can help you understand the different actions you and others take based on the “same” set of facts.
