Contra Costa Times Profiles SMC Alumna Elena Bicker as a "Hometown Hero"

A Contra Costa Times article hailed Elena Bicker '85 as a Hometown Hero for her work as executive director of Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation, a rescue group in Walnut Creek founded by the former Oakland A's manager. Over the past 20 years, the organization has found homes for more than 21,000 dogs and cats. La Russa praised Bicker for her skills and her passion for saving animals, and Bicker said her position at ARF, where she oversees a $4.3 million budget and hundreds of volunteers, is her "dream job."
